Pepa Randall has been named the Round 7 MVP for her defensive efforts against the Southern Saints on the weekend.

The shut-down defender was given the task of playing on Saints forward Caitlin Greiser who had previously kicked seven goals in five matches.

Not only did Randall keep the full forward goalless and without a mark, but she also kept Gresier to just six disposals.

In a match where goals were hard to come by, Randall’s ability to stop the Saints leading goal kicker hitting the scoreboard was vital to keeping her side in the match.

VFLW coach Paddy Hill was thrilled with Randall’s efforts.

“Pepa was given the task of shutting down one of the VFLW’s most in-form forwards and did a fantastic job to hold her goalless and without a mark to her name,” said Hill.
