Following a maiden All Australian campaign in 2018, Jack Gunston entered the season with the added recognition of being one of the competition’s premier forwards.

Gunston was also honoured with the vice-captaincy of the club ahead of the season, rewarding the 27-year-old’s improved leadership skills.

The goal kicker was again an incredibly durable force for the Hawks this year, playing at least 20 games for the seventh consecutive season.

Despite a slight regression from his career-best numbers the previous year, Gunston maintained a high standard being one of just 12 players league-wide to average at least 15 possessions and 1.3 goals per game.

Gunston’s best game came in Round 10 when he booted a match-defining six goals to help the Hawks to their fifth win of the season.
