Box Hill returned to the winners list in Round 11, taking an eight-point win over the Footscray Bulldogs at Box Hill City Oval.

The Hawks trailed by 16 points at quarter time and six at half time, before a dominant third term saw them lead by 18 at the last break to come home with the win.

Senior Coach David Mirra said his side bounced back brilliantly from last week's loss to St Kilda.

"Heading into the clash with the reigning premiers, we set ourselves a high benchmark," Mirra said.

"Securing the win and delivering one of our best performances of the year, ensures we head into this week's bye in a fantastic position."

Mirra detailed the performances of all 16 AFL-listed Hawks below.

Harry Morrison (33 disposals, seven marks, eight intercept possessions)

“Dominant performance across half back. Accumulated a lot of the ball through a really high workrate and then used it exceptionally well creating multiple chances to transition the ball effectively from our back half resulting in inside 50’s."

Henry Hustwaite (29 disposals, 20 contested possessions, 10 clearances)

“Back to his commanding best in the midfield. Won 10 clearances, 20 contested possessions and a whopping 17 ground ball gets. He was really clean in what was tricky conditions being wet and slippery particularly in the middle of the ground."

Finn Maginness (One goal, 27 disposals, 12 tackles)

“Played as a forward and inside mid. Had a big impact on the contest with involvements. Registered a team high 12 tackles and had 6 clearances winning first possession from stoppages on multiple occasions. Was able to also hit the scoreboard with a goal."

Ollie Greeves (26 disposals, 10 marks, six clearances)

“Won a lot of football registering 26 disposals. Had a good balance between territory from stoppage and finding targets. An impressive part of Ollie’s game was his spread offensively and transition on defence where he was able to accumulate a team high 10 marks."

Sam Butler (25 disposals, nine tackles, six clearances)

“Played midfield and forward and accumulated high possessions. Won first possession from stoppage and got us going forward. Worked hard going from contest to contest and registered nine tackles."

Will McCabe (One goal, 18 disposals, six marks)

“Played majority on the wing. His defensive running patterns were very good aiding our back six on multiple occasions either with tackles or intercepts. He accumulated four rebound 50’s from this workrate to get back and help. He was smart with his ball use often picking the best option."

Noah Mraz (17 disposals, nine marks, three tackles)

“Back-to-back consistent strong performances for Noah. Took contested marks, strong spoils and tackles. Beat his man again and was a pillar of our back six. Used the ball well when he had his chance with ball in hand registering five rebound 50’s."

Jack Dalton (17 disposals, eight tackles, eight inside 50s)

“Enormous work rate yet again. One passage of play he tackled and got a free kick for holding the ball at half back and within a few seconds was already at half forward assisting with a goal. He generated eight inside 50’s, the most for the team."

Max Ramsden (25 hitouts, 15 disposals, five clearances)

“A fantastic performance from Max in the ruck, he won his position. 25 hit outs was a nice return for his effort and won 11 contested possessions. Had big moments at stoppage allowing us to win clearance."

Calsher Dear (15 disposals, eight marks, five intercept possessions)

“For the third consecutive week he played in the backline. He was really strong aerially taking some impressive contested marks. He used the ball well accumulating four rebound 50’s and going at 90% disposal efficiency."

Matt LeRay (13 disposals, five marks, four tackles)

“Matt continued playing on the wing. In wet and slippery conditions, he made the most of his involvements, being really clean with his ball handling. Had some big contest and pressure moments."

Aidan Schubert (Two goals, 11 disposals, four marks)

“Kicked two and set another one up for McLaughlin. He displayed impressive field kicking this week and won some free kicks from clever body work."

Cody Anderson (One goal, 10 disposals, three score involvements)

“Was able to hit the scoreboard kicking a goal from a forward 50 stoppage. His pressure inside forward 50 was good often in the vicinity to apply tackling or chase pressure to help cause turnover or stoppage in our front half."

Matt Hill (Eight disposals, four tackles, three score involvements)

“While it wasn't his busiest game, Matt showed his ability to impact the contest in moments. His brilliant first quarter intercept deserved a better result than hitting the post and his late game marking was crucial while the match was tight. If he can add a little more composure to those high stakes moments, he’ll elevate his performance."

Max Beattie (One goal, seven disposals, five tackles)

“First game in the brown and gold stripes, Max played as a forward. He was having a terrific game until he got injured right at the end of the second quarter and didn’t return to the field. He kicked a great goal on the boundary line and his running ability and tackling were a real feature of his game."

Jaime Uhr-Henry (14 hitouts, four disposals, three contested possessions)

“Competed strongly and had a good performance. His ground level work was a highlight registering four tackles. His running patterns defensively were strong taking one intercept mark."

Box Hill have the bye this weekend before returning in Round 13 to take on the Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium.
