Emerging young forward Aidan Schubert has signed a two-year contract extension with Hawthorn, keeping him in the brown and gold until at least the end of 2029.

Drafted by the Hawks with Pick 23 in the 2025 National Draft, the Central District product has shown strong signs of development during his first year at the club.

The 198cm key forward has been a constant contributor for Box Hill at VFL level this season, booting 16.17 from his opening 10 games, while averaging 12 disposals and 4.6 marks per match.

Hawthorn National List and Recruiting Manager Mark McKenzie said Schubert’s progression has been very positive to date.

“With his athletic profile and strong aerial ability, Aidan possesses all the traits needed to develop into a genuine key forward in the years ahead,” McKenzie said.

“Booting 16 goals from just over 30 scoring shots in his first 10 VFL matches, Aidan has demonstrated his dangerous scoring ability as a young forward whilst continuing to hone his craft at the level.

“Having turned 18 only in December, Aidan still has significant growth and development ahead of him, and we’re excited to see what the future holds.”
