Hawthorn will commemorate its 25th anniverary in Tasmania this Saturday afternoon when it hosts Melbourne at UTAS Stadium.
A quarter-of-a-century ago Hawthorn made York Park (UTAS Stadium) its home-away-from-home. 25 years later, the club has built a genuine fortress in state, highlighted by its incredible relationship with the local Launceston community.
Working hand-in-hand with Tasmanians to educate and inspire off the field, on the field, the Hawks have enjoyed one of the most successful records in recent memory, winning close to 80% of all games played at York Park since 2001.
A special pre-game ceremony will take place before the first siren on Saturday, with a large part of the festivities aimed at acknowledging the unwaiving and loyal support from all Tasmanian members and fans over the past 25 years.
