Hawthorn is bound for the SCG in its official AFLW practice match on Friday afternoon against the Sydney Swans.
After two match simulations at the Kennedy Community Centre, Hawthorn’s preparation for the 2026 AFLW season is in full swing.
The official practice match marks the third of four games in the pre-season fixture before the Hawks officially kick off their season in Round 1 at IKON Park on Thursday 13 August from 7.15pm.

Hawthorn (77) defeated Sydney Swans (28) in Practice Match, 2024. Â
The last time the Hawks met the Swans was two years ago at the same venue, the SCG, also in a pre-season practice match.
The Hawks managed a 49-point victory to kick-start their 2024 season which ended in an inaugural finals’ appearance.
Hawthorn had nine individual goal scorers, with Aine McDonagh and Bridie Hipwell slotting two each.
Lucy Wales was dominant around the ground, managing a game-high 42 hitouts, eight clearances and 18 disposals.
With Emily Bates (one goal and 19 disposals) and Eliza West (16 disposals and five tackles) at her aid in the midfield.
2026 fixtureÂ
The real stuff officially kicks off for the Hawks on Thursday 13 August in Round 1 hosting Melbourne at IKON Park from 7.15pm.
Before Hawthorn's historic first home game at the Kennedy Community Centre in Round 4 against the Adelaide Crows on Sunday 6 September at 1.05pm.
The Hawks then host home games in Round 5 v Western Bulldogs (KCC), Round 6 v North Melbourne (Cazalys Stadium, Cairns), Round 9 v Brisbane Lions (KCC) and Round 11 v Essendon (KCC).
