Hawthorn heads north to take on the reigning premiers, Brisbane in Friday night football in Round 22.

The Gabba plays host to a match with top four implications heading into finals, as the Hawks who sit third, take on the fifth placed Lions.

The Hawks are 14 wins, one draw and five losses for the season, while Brisbane are 13 wins and seven losses. Both sides have won four of their last five match ups.

Hawthorn (79) defeated by Brisbane Lions (89) in Round 24, 2025.  

Hawthorn went down by 10 points to Brisbane, in the last round of the home and away season.

Mabior Chol kicked a game-high three goals, while Jack Gunston and Jack Ginnivan both booted two.

Karl Amon was best on for the Hawks and the leading disposals getter on the ground with 34, of those were 10 contested possessions and eight intercept possessions.

Others among the best were Jarman Impey (20 disposals, eight intercept possessions), Newcombe (23 disposals, six score involvements), Meek (31 disposals, one goal) and Ginnivan.

The Gabba ticket holders can travel for free on the Queensland Rail City Network trains (excluding Airtrain), Brisbane City Council buses, and special event shuttle services. Free travel is valid from 4 hours before your event until the last service of the day.

There is no public parking available at The Gabba on event days. Parking restrictions apply in the local area on major event days. Accessibility drop off is near Gate 5 on Linton Street.
