A pair of Hawks are set to return from injury this weekend, with young Hawk Jack Dalton and defender Jack Scrimshaw both set to be available for selection, should they get through Thursday's main training session.

As mentioned earlier on Tuesday, midfielder Conor Nash has been ruled out for the season due to his neck injury.

Elsewhere, Flynn Perez (groin) and Noah Mraz (kidney) are both two weeks away from a return to play.

High Performance Manager Peter Burge provided an update on each player below.

Jack Dalton - Knee (Available)

"He's had some great training over the past two weeks. He's fully training this week, and he fully trained last week as well. So, he's available to play football this weekend, and no restrictions. He's ready to go."

Jack Scrimshaw - Knee (Test)

"We're looking to play a half a game this weekend in the VFL, providing training goes to plan this week, which we expect it to. He fully trained today, he'll fully train again on Thursday, and then we'll get some game time into him on the weekend, which is really pleasing. It's been a lengthy process with some surgery along the way, but the last three to four weeks have gone to plan. He's feeling much better and in a better space with his body and preparation. Now he's ready to play some football."

Flynn Perez - Groin (2 weeks)

"He's improved quite significantly, and we were discussing this week whether he plays or not, and we've made a decision not to play this week and give him another fortnight of preparation and conditioning. The VFL program has a game this week, and then there's a bye, there's obviously AFL games as well. But the best thing for Flynn is that we continue to build him and build some strength back into the area that was giving him some trouble. In the last week, he's certainly made some progress and feels better. We want to consolidate that preparation now and get a couple of weeks of good prep into him, and then he'll return in two weeks."

Noah Mraz - Kidney (2 weeks)

"He's progressed really well. He's back doing a heap of conditioning, and we're going to look to have him back into some non-contact football training possibly next week. But in terms of his return to play, it will be the week of the AFL bye, so the first week of VFL finals he's going to be playing again. So, that's two more missed games, and that'll come around quite quickly. But we've been given the go-ahead that that's his return to football. So, that's really exciting."

Conor Nash - Neck (Season)

"Yeah, a number of weeks have obviously passed now, and we've had some different measures and markers that we needed to achieve. Whilst there'd been improvement in some of those strength measures in particular, there were some other things that we had to consider as well. But the progress just hasn't been good enough, and further consultation with specialists suggested that he'll have surgery next week in Sydney. That will help correct the issue. Then there'll be a fairly lengthy rehab process after that as well, but it should have him back at the start of pre-season training, which is the good news. But yeah, really disappointing. He's certainly making some progress, steady progress, but it just wasn't enough, and the time's running out. That was the advice given to us last week."
