Ned Reeves and Jack Scrimshaw have been added to the injury list with respective larynx and knee concerns.
Reeves suffered a knock to the throat during Box Hill’s Qualifying Final last weekend, while Scrimshaw’s knee injury prevented him from lining up in that game.
While a timeline has been established for Cody Anderson’s hamstring.
High Performance Manager Perer Burge provided an update on the trio below.
Cody Anderson (Hamstring) – 2-3 weeks
“Yeah progressing and certainly running, doing more faster running at the moment. He's around 75% speed. Given the injury, the type of injury and the location, there's still some things that we need to keep working through. So, we've listed him as a two to three-week timeline, which takes him to the grand final of the VFL, providing we progress that far. The preliminary final is off the table. So, it's just a progression to that, and when we get to that week, we'll see where he's at and how he's progressed and whether he moves into to full skills training that week, or he hasn't progressed. But we'll update each week, but he's progressing well at the moment, and he's certainly moving ahead, and we're looking to get him back into skills the week of the grand final, potentially.”
Jack Scrimshaw (Knee) – TBC
“Managing this knee issue that he's had surgery on recently. He trained last week on Tuesday, and trained well and felt really good, and a training session Thursday night with Box Hill, was preparing to play on the weekend, didn't quite feel as good in that session, didn't finish the session, and we just made the decision that he wasn't ready to play. So, it was frustrating for him, and for us. So he's now just taken a step back and was doing some running across the weekend and did some skill work today. So we'll progress his training over the week, and see how it responds, how his knee responds, and then we'll make an assessment next week to his availability again, leading into the games next week, the VFL preliminary final, obviously, and we've also got an AFL team, playing this week as well, so. But for him, it's progression of training this week, and then we'll reassess into next week.”
Ned Reeves (Larynx) – TBC
“Ned had a knock to his throat and has been off for a scan, and he's got a an injury to his larynx. Um, so we're going to get some further information and send him to a specialist to see what that actually means, but this week he won't be playing football. He will just be non-contact training and continuing his conditioning, and then we'll reassess next week once we've got some more information and what that means into next week.”
