The Box Hill Hawks will host Essendon in a Preliminary Final this Saturday morning at Box Hill City Oval.

Box Hill secured a home Preliminary Final as a result of the a 13-point victory over Werribee in the Qualifying Final, after finishing third at the end of the home-and-away season.

While Essendon won through from fifth, with an Elimination Final victory over Williamstown and a 27-point win against Tasmania in last weekend’s Semi Final.

This marks the Hawks’ third preliminary final appearance in four years, following defeats to eventual premiers, Footscray Bulldogs and Gold Coast Suns in 2025 and 2023 respectively.
