Hawthorn defender Jack Scrimshaw is a chance to suit up in Box Hill’s preliminary final on Saturday, as he nears a return from a knee injury.

Meanwhile, Cody Anderson and Ned Reeves are still at least a week away and could be available should the Hawks progress beyond this weekend.

High Performance Manager Peter Burge provided an update on the trio below.

Jack Scrimshaw (Knee) – Test

“Yeah, it's been a good last week. He missed the qualifying final, just hadn't quite pulled up from the game prior to that. Missed the qualifying final and then has been able to settle and get some training in last week. Trained across the weekend, trained today, so all going well the rest of this week, he'll be available this weekend.”

Cody Anderson (Hamstring) – 1 week

“Yeah, he's made some really good progression. He's not available this week, but if the team progresses past this weekend, he would be potentially available next week.”

Ned Reeves (Larynx) – 1 week

“Yeah, Ned has a larynx injury, and last week he went and saw a specialist, and it was determined that he would need to miss two weeks, including last week. So he won't be available this weekend, but if the team progresses, he will be available next week. So we've kept him training non-contact, he's actually been able to do quite a bit of work still, but unfortunately, he won't be playing this weekend.”
