Hawthorn young guns Sam Butler and Cody Anderson will face fitness tests this week to return from their respective hamstring injuries.

Butler sustained the injury during Box Hill's VFL Preliminary Final victory against Essendon on Saturday, but he also faces a suspension for an incident during the game.

Meanwhile, Ned Reeves is available for selection after recovering from a larynx injury.

High Performance Manager Peter Burge provided an update on each player below.

Ned Reeves - Larynx (Available)

"Ned has missed the past two games and has been able to do non-contact training over that time. On the weekend, he was able to do quite a bit of our football training session on Saturday at a non-contact level. We just took care of him, but he was able to get quite a bit of work out. So, he'll have a normal week this week, be fully back into contact (training) on Thursday and be available for the weekend."

Cody Anderson - Hamstring (Test)

"It's looking promising for him. He was able to get a full session out on Saturday, and he's fully trained today. So, it's looking likely he'll be made available this weekend."

Sam Butler - Hamstring (Test)

"He has a hamstring issue. It's very minor. We've had scans, and there's not much there to see. But he was definitely aware of something halfway through the game on the weekend, and we just made the decision post-half-time that he wouldn't take any further part in the game, just given the level of risk, and he's a high-speed player as well. He's got moving today, and we're going to see how that tracks over the week, and also pending a tribunal hearing as well. So, there's a little bit to play out there."
