Six Hawks were recognised by the coaches for their elite performances against the Western Bulldogs in Round 5.

Lucy Wales and Eliza West each received nine coaches’ votes after impactful displays on Saturday afternoon at the Kennedy Community Centre.

West was the Hawks' leading ball-getter with 24 disposals, of which 15 were contested possessions, as well as a game-high seven tackles and a team-high seven clearances.

Wales was strong around the ground with 22 disposals, 13 hitouts, eight intercept possessions and five marks.

The 23-year-old ruck now sits equal second on the leaderboard for the AFL Coaches’ Association’s AFLW Champion Player of the Year Award, with 37 votes.

Áine McDonagh was the next to poll, earning six votes from the coaches.

The star forward booted a career and game-high four goals against the Dogs from 13 disposals, with five marks and three tackles.

Jacqueline Dupuy and Jasmine Fleming both managed two votes for their efforts.

Dupuy took a career-high 10 marks and booted one goal from 16 disposals, while Fleming had 19 possessions, took five marks and had five score involvements.

Last but not least was Tamara Smith with one vote in her 50th game.

She finished with 20 disposals, a team-high nine intercept possessions and seven marks.
