Hawthorn is heading down the highway for another instalment of the Hawks v Cats rivalry this Thursday night.
Their first meeting on the Thursday night ahead of the AFL Grand Final back in 2024 is still recognised as one of the league’s best games, with the 2025 clash resulting in a come from behind win by the Hawks.
This week’s Round 7 clash is sure to be exciting. The Hawks are coming off a victory over the reigning premiers, North Melbourne to sit seventh on the ladder with four wins, two losses. While the Cats have dropped just one game this season against the Roos in Round one, but have since gone unbeaten with five wins to sit third.
In added excitement, Casey Sherriff will run out for her 75th AFLW game.

The Hawks fought back from a 16-point deficit to beat Geelong at GMHBA Stadium.
While it wasn’t the beautiful disposal chains for the 2024 extravaganza between the two sides, the sequel was a little grittier but equally as engrossing.
Eliza West helped turn the tide in the midfield with 27 touches and seven clearances, while Jas Fleming’s 22 touches undersells her impact.
While Lucy Wales was influential with an equal game-high 27 disposals and a game-high 16 hitouts, as well as seven tackles and five marks.
Áine McDonagh kicked two crucial goals in the second half to seal the Hawks’ victory.
