Hawthorn returns to IKON Park on Thursday night to face Carlton to kick off Round 8.

The Hawks are coming off a loss to Geelong last Thursday night, taking their record thus far to four wins and three losses for the season, currently sitting outside the top eight in ninth place.

The Blues have managed five wins and two losses from seven games and are placed sixth.

The Hawks are 2-1 in the overall head-to-head match up against the Blues, with Carlton recording its first win over the brown and gold in last year’s Semi Final.

In added excitement for the Round 8 clash, Jasmine Fleming will run out for her 50th AFLW game.

Last time we met 

Hawthorn (33) defeated by Carlton (79) in Semi Final, 2025. 

Carlton eliminated Hawthorn from the 2025 finals series with the Hawks suffering a 46-point loss at IKON Park.

Midfield dynamo Jasmine Fleming (10 disposals, one goal) started the game at full forward and roamed the attacking arc for much of the game alongside Aine McDonagh, who finished with 14 disposals and one goal.

A falcon suffered by vice-captain Eliza West, resulted in her being ruled out early in the second half with concussion.

The Hawks simply had no answers and it hands the club the unwanted record of back-to-back winless finals series' following top-four finishes.
