Injured trio Hannah Looney, Grace Baba and Matilda Van Berkel have each made positive progress this week.
High Performance Manager Aaron Kellett provided an update on all three players and the markers they’ve hit in their respective rehab programs.
Hannah Looney (Hamstring) – TBC
“It's been another positive week for Hannah. She started her speed progressions this week—did some speed work today. We've got some testing this week to help inform and finalize a bit of her return-to-play date, so next week I hope—hopefully we can formalize a targeted return for her. So she's still TBC, but a very, very positive week again.”
Grace Baba (Ankle) – TBC
“We've been able to get that ankle a bit more under control from a swelling and an increasing range of motion perspective. We did hit a bit of a flat spot in her return to play last week. Thankfully, we're feeling like we're making some inroads there. She's doing some low-level change of direction, starting her—continuing her run progressions, I should say. She's still a TBC at this stage, and a bit of a slow burn than we ideally would have liked, but thankfully we feel like we've got that ankle a bit more under control.”
Matilda Van Berkel (Foot) – Season
“You know, with such a long return to play with a navicular, Tilly was able to resume her first and complete her first overground running session over the weekend. We were able to have some bodies around her, which was awesome for her. A really big progression for her with her running. A step forward today again with some straight-line speed progressions again. She's still got a reloading plan ahead of her, which is a bit of a work in progress, but yeah, a really, really positive step.”
