HAWTHORN has made a number of changes to its playing list ahead of the AFL’s first list lodgement deadline.

Primary-listed midfielder Alex Woodward has been delisted, as has mature-aged rookie Sam Grimley and first-year rookie Jared Hardisty.

The Club remains dedicated to assisting Woodward, who made his AFL debut last year and played two senior matches, in his recovery from injury.

“Hawthorn is committed to assisting Alex Woodward as he continues his rehabilitation program after rupturing his ACL in July,” Recruiting and List Manager Graham Wright said.

“We’re hopeful of re-selecting Alex in the Rookie Draft if he is not selected by another team prior to that.”

Grimley played the last of his three AFL matches in 2013, while Hardisty did not play a senior game.

Rookie-listed defender Kurt Heatherley, a Category B International Rookie from New Zealand, has been upgraded to the senior list.

Veterans David Hale and Brian Lake have retired after playing in the club’s 2013, 2014 and 2015 premierships.

While we’ve celebrated the careers of David and Brian over the last couple of days we would like to thank all players for their contribution to Hawthorn Football Club and wish them every success for the future,” Wright said.
