Jackson Ross has narrowly fallen short of taking out the Frosty Miller Medal, the VFL's leading goal kicker award.

In just his second year on the Hawthorn list, Ross finished in second place across the league, recording 35 goals in his 16 appearances.

Port Melbourne's Jordan Lisle ultimately won his third league goal kicking award, booting 40 goals on the season.

Ross hit the scoreboard in 15 of his 16 games throughout the 2019 home and away season, with his season-high of four goals coming in both Round 8 against Collingwood and Round 11 against Essendon.

But, despite missing out on the award, Ross now has a finals campaign to focus on.

A premiership player from Box Hill's success last year, Ross figures as a key cog if the Hawks are any chance of performing well in September.

Werribee will host Box Hill at Adcon Stadium in Port Melbourne on Sunday at 2.10pm.
