We spoke to Hawthorn’s Director of High Performance Andrew Russell to find out which of our Hawks have impressed him most across the course of the pre-season.

Name: Jarman Impey
Age: 22
Guernsey: 4
Senior games (2017): 20
Senior games (career): 75

Having crossed over from Port Adelaide in last year’s NAB AFL Trade Period, Jarman Impey has made an outstanding first impression upon his arrival at the club.

At 22 years of age and with 75 senior games under his belt, Impey is primed to take his game to the next level in 2018.

Impey brings an exciting level of versatility to the Ricoh Centre, with an ability to play in every area of the ground.

His performance in Hawthorn’s intraclub game capped off a strong pre-season as he recorded 18 disposals, two marks, two clearances and kicked 1.2, and captured the attention of Director of High Performance Andrew Russell.

“Jarman has not missed a beat since he arrived at the club,” Russell said.

“He’s only missed one planned training session in the last four months.

"He’s just a worker. He loves training hard, and turns up every day trying to get better and improve."

“His dynamic, explosive ability on the track has really impressed everyone.”
