Box Hill will play its qualifying final against Port Melbourne this Sunday, after finishing second on the VFL ladder. 

17 listed Hawthorn players are technically eligible to take part in this year’s Peter Jackson VFL Finals Series, however with youngsters Kieran Lovell, Mitchell Lewis and James Cousins sidelined through injury, Jack Fitzpatrick forced to retire, and Ryan Schoenmakers managed after playing the last 10 games at AFL level, that list is reduced to 12.

In order to be eligible, each player must have played at least one AFL, VFL or Development game in 2017. If they have played an AFL home and away match after the 1st of July, they must have played at least six VFL games during the season to remain eligible.
