Jack Gunston is on the cusp of Hawthorn goal kicking immortality as the 2020 season nears.

The three-time premiership Hawk is 37 goals away from passing Alec Albiston and entering the club's top 10 all-time goal kicking ranks.

The 28-year-old has kicked 347 goals since joining the Hawks in 2012, having kicked a further 20 goals in 14 games for the Adelaide Crows in the opening two seasons of his career.

Across his eight seasons in the brown and gold, Gunston has surpassed the 37-goal threshold six times.

If he were to boot the required amount of majors, the 2018 All Australian forward would join teammate Luke Breust inside the club's premier sharp-shooters in history.

Breust also has the opportunity to move himself up the list this season, being just 36 goals from overtaking five-time premiership Hawk Dermott Brereton who currently sits in eighth position.
