Hawthorn Football Club has been involved in a partnership program with the region of Katherine in the NT since 2009. Players and support staff have visited the area 13 times over the years.

Shaun Burgoyne spent three days in Katherine with Strength and Conditioning Coach Luke Boyd conducting clinics, leadership sessions and visiting local communities.

On the final day of the trip to Katherine, Shaun Burgoyne and Luke Boyd together with some Hawthorn staff travelled to the Katherine Gorge in Nitmiluk National Park to take in the amazing scenery. They then headed out on a boat through the gorge and stopped off to explore and admire the natural ancient sandstone formation

In the afternoon, the group headed back into town to visit Katherine South Primary school, where Burgoyne and Boyd took grades 5 and 6 for some games, footy skills and a Q&A session.
