Hawthorn will again be without Vice Captain Jaeger O’Meara when it takes on Essendon this Thursday night.

O’Meara underwent surgery on his fractured hand last week, and his recovery hasn’t been speedy enough for the midfielder to be considered for selection.

“Jaeger had that hand operated on last week after fracturing it against West Coast Eagles,”

“Unfortunately the swelling and the wound isn’t quite ready for him to play this week, but we’re hoping in the next one to two weeks he’ll be available to play.

“With these quick turnarounds and five day breaks, it’s a little bit harder to get up for the next game, so we’ll wait and see how he settles.”
