After the Hawks made a season-high six changes ahead of Saturday’s clash with Port Adelaide, fans will be listening with intent to see what strategy Hawthorn opts for at the selection table this week.

The Hawks will take on the Bombers on Thursday afternoon. Essendon is sitting six points clear of Hawthorn on the ladder, with an additional win and draw in the bank.

However, there is little difference between the two sides when you look at the form guide; the Bombers’ last five starts have resulted in four losses and a draw, while Hawthorn has registered for losses and a win.

So, who can help the Hawks get the job done?

Forward Mitch Lewis is sure to come into consideration; the 21-year-old was among the best players in Hawthorn’s scratch match on Saturday, finishing with two goals in a low scoring affair, along with multiple goal assists.

Finn Maginess also continues plying his trade in the practice hit outs. The youngster is showing signs of development with each  performance, and hopes to earn a senior call up before season’s end.

“I feel like I’m improving, and I’d love to get an AFL game,” Maginess said during an interview on Monday.

“It’s definitely pretty inspiring to see some of my mates play really well.

“Will Day’s been in awesome form, so that’s really inspired me.”

Dylan Moore could be considered for his first game since Round 15 2019, after the small forward/midfielder put on an impressive showing against Port’s reserves.

Harry Morrison will also be hoping for a return; the defender served as carry-over emergency after being left out of the Round 13 side.

The Hawks will take on the Bombers at 4.40pm this Thursday afternoon at Adelaide Oval.
