The AFL has released the details of Hawthorn’s Round 7 and 8 fixtures.

The Hawks will take on St Kilda on Saturday May 1 at 4.35pm at Marvel Stadium, before hosting West Coast at the MCG on Sunday May 9 at 1.10pm.

The Hawks will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak at Marvel Stadium in Round 7, with their most recent visit seeing the side pull off a miraculous one-point win over Essendon.

The match-up with the Saints will also be a replacement game for members, the second one of the season.

The game will also be an opportunity for Hawthorn and St Kilda to celebrate the long-standing Blue Ribbon Cup in honour of Victoria’s policemen and women.

Hawthorn has historically fared well against the Eagles at the MCG, victorious in six of their eight encounters there including the 2015 Grand Final.

The statistic that leaves Jaeger unmatched across the league

AFL Head of Broadcasting and Scheduling Marcus King said the confirmation of dates and times of the fixture in smaller blocks will continue for the short term, as the league tries to balance providing certainty for fans and clubs.

“As a community we are still navigating through the effects of the Covid pandemic and releasing dates and times of matches in smaller blocks helps to provide certainty for fans wanting to attend matches,” Mr King said.

“The dates and times were formulated having regard to current government advice and border restrictions and we believe we have been able to deliver an attractive fixture for fans both in venue and watching around the country.”
