Chad Wingard has received the nod from fans as Hawthorn’s Round 9 MVP following the side's loss to North Melbourne.

In a game devoid of many positives for the brown and gold, Chad Wingard's performance was a rare point of positivity.

Recording game-high tallies of 13 score involvements and four goal assists as well as a team-high five inside 50s, Wingard gave his all in trying to generate momentum for Hawthorn.

The 27-year-old booted two goals in a scintillating opening quarter for the Hawks, helping his side to a 26-point lead at the first break.

Sadly the Hawks weren't able to maintain that level of form throughout the game, but Wingard's production remained strong across the journey, finishing with 21 disposals to his name.
