Hawthorn key forward Mitch Lewis will be available for selection this week after recovering from a concussion.

Physical Performance Manager Luke Boyd said Lewis has now passed all the important milestones, having completed the squad's main training session on Thursday.

"Mitch has been able to ramp up his training loads over the last couple of weeks and his symptoms have settled really well," Boyd said.

"He full-trained today with contact and he will be available to play this weekend."

Having hurt his ankle in the finals stages of the side's Round 15 win over GWS, Will Day will unfortunately require another week on the sidelines.

"He initially pulled up quite sore following the injury, but we were expecting that to settle for this week's game.

"He hasn't quite got there though, that ankle is still a little bit sore which means he will be unavailable for this week's game.

"We just need to wait and see how that progresses and how long he will be out for.

"Certainly in this case, with Will being a younger athlete, we don't want to rush things and we want to make sure he is ready to go."
