The Hawthorn match committee will have its work cut out this week with the return of three key Hawks ahead of the side's clash with Adelaide on Saturday.

Hawthorn is set to welcome back key contributors from injury including Blake Hardwick (hamstring), Jack Scrimshaw (concussion) and Chad Wingard (hamstring) for Saturday night's game against the Crows at Marvel Stadium.

Wingard and Hardwick haven't been sighted since Round 15 and 16 respectively, while Scrimshaw will make his return after missing a week.

The return of Wingard will provide a boost to the Hawks midfield, where prior to his hamstring injury, he was averaging 19.6 disposals and 4.2 inside 50s a game this season.

Hardwick and Scrimshaw are set to bolster a depleted defence with both having had stand-out years.

The trio's return will see some unlucky players miss out on selection following an impressive performance from a young Hawks side last weekend after drawing with ladder leaders the Demons.

Having been forced to withdraw from the Melbourne game due to COVID-19 restrictions, Conor Nash will also be hoping to be considered ahead of the Crows clash.

Hawthorn and Melbourne played out an edge-of-your-seat draw - the second of the home and away season - which pleasingly saw all 22 Hawks players have an influence.

The final team to take on Adelaide will be announced on Thursday at 6.20pm AEST.
