From a string of goal kickers to one Hawks' crazy record, here are some of the interesting stats that emerged from Hawthorn's 19-point win against Collingwood on Sunday.

Match report: Hawks jump Pies on the ground and the ladder

Goal kicking heights

Hawthorn had 11 individual goal kickers in Sunday's game at the MCG - the most it has had from any game so far this year.

Among them included veteran Shaun Burgoyne who got on the board with his first goal of the 2021 season.

The major saw the 38-year-old claim the amazing stat of kicking goals in 20 consecutive seasons in the AFL.

Other Hawks who hit the scoreboard included Jacob Koschitke (3), Dylan Moore (2), Daniel Howe (2), Mitch Lewis, Ben McEvoy, Conor Nash, Jaeger O'Meara, Jack Scrimshaw, James Worpel and Tom Mitchell.

Koschitzke caught the eye with a trio of goals in his return to the side, bringing his tally to 25 majors for 2021, while Moore's two goals has saw him creep up on the goal kicking tally with 27 to his name this year.

The Hawks final score of 97 points was also their second-biggest win and the second-highest score for the season.

Mitchell's big day out

Tom Mitchell seems to just love taking on Collingwood.

The 2018 Brownlow Medallist’s impressive record against the Pies - in which he has averaged 43 disposals against them in their last four meetings - continues to remain.

He amassed a game-high 44 disposals - 14 more than the next best disposal-getter on the ground - adding to previous meetings of 54 and 50 touches against the Pies.

He also recorded 12 score involvements, eight clearances, seven inside 50s, 10 marks and a goal.

Mitchell made sure he was also damaging with the ball - going at 84.1 per cent efficiency.

The outing further cements his place as the competition's top ball-getter in 2021, having racked up 691 disposals at an average of 34.6 per game.

Target hitters

The Hawks showed control of the footy, with their disposal efficiency of 82.9 per cent the highest they have displayed in a game this season - surpassing the side's season average of 74.4 per cent per game.

Aside from the Hawks efficient ball use, they also had a mountain of uncontested possessions (319) and heaped pressure on the Pies whenever they touched it.

Hawthorn currently rank second in the league for disposals per game, averaging 376.7, just behind Geelong who top the board with 387.4 per game.

They also recorded 137 marks against the Pies, 45 more than their 2021 average of 91, 11 of which were inside 50.

Two in a row

Prior to the club's recent consecutive victories, the last time the Hawks recorded two wins in a row was more than 12 months ago.

The previous back-to-back wins were in Rounds 3 and 4 of the 2020 season, against Richmond and North Melbourne respectively.

"It has been some time since the mighty Hawks have won two games in a row!" Coach Alastair Clarkson enthusiastically recalled after the game.

Both consecutive wins also saw the Hawks lead the game from start to finish - the only time they have done so this season.
