Electric defender Changkuoth Jiath is a confirmed starter for Hawthorn's clash against Brisbane this weekend.

Brownlow Medallist Tom Mitchell and classy utility Daniel Howe are also among the inclusions for the Hawks, as they return to Tasmania for the second time this season.

22-year-old Jiath shapes as a welcome addition to the Hawthorn defence, after recovering from a hamstring injury sustained in Round 5.

Mitchell re-joins the senior side after being managed last week, while Daniel Howe's recall comes off the back of an impressive VFL outing for Box Hill, where he finished with 24 touches and seven tackles.

Forward Jack Gunston (injured), James Worpel (omitted), Connor Macdonald (medical sub) and Finn Maginness (omitted) are the four confirmed outs.

Hawthorn is searching for its first win in more than a month when takes to the field in Launceston on Sunday, hosting the red-hot Brisbane Lions, who have dropped just one game this year.
