Hawthorn’s defensive stocks have been boosted by the acquisition of key defender Mackenzie Eardley.
Eardley was selected with Pick 6 in the 2022 NAB AFLW Draft and boasts a strong intercept mark, powerful kick and elite hands.
The Dandenong Stingrays co-captain averaged 14.1 disposals, four rebound 50s and 3.3 marks, earning her selection in the NAB League Girls Team of the Year.
At the 2022 NAB AFLW National Championships, she represented Vic Country and earned under 18 All Australian honours after excelling both in defence and when she pushed up forward.
Her offensive nature means she has the ability to run off her defender and impact the contest, while also rolling up forward.
The 183cm tall is a ready-made AFLW player and possesses leadership ability as well as elite skill.
