Season summary:

Nash produced a career-best year in 2022 as he pushed further into the midfield.

Averaging 15.5 disposals and more than four tackles per game, the big-bodied Irishman provided extra grunt through the middle, and begun to show a strong capacity to cover the ground with his aerobic capacity.

His tally of 21 games was his most ever in a single season, as he managed to celebrate his 50th career match in the final round.

Best AFL game:

Nash was dominant in Hawthorn’s Round 17 clash with the Crows, as he picked up 22 disposals. He took five marks and had eight score involvements, while booting a goal himself as the Hawks ran out 32-point winners.

How the coaches saw him:

“It was a pretty solid year for Conor and I think now he’s looking to take the next step with his footy. We love his team-first mentality. Connor is a much-loved and trusted member of the midfield group, and is admired for how hard he goes at the contest and how much he works week in, week out. He has a great balance of his height to be able to run and cover the ground, but to also be really tough inside with his tackling pressure. We’re looking at ways to get him a little bit more of the footy as a midfielder and I think that grew as the year went on." – Robert Harvey
