Versatile Hawk Harry Morrison faces a test to prove his fitness ahead of Saturday's Elimination Final against GWS at ENGIE Stadium.
Morrison has been sidelined since Round 21 with a quad injury.
Ahead of Box Hill's VFL Semi Final on Saturday, Cody Anderson has been listed as a test after suffering a quad cork last weekend against Southport.
Young defender Noah Mraz will have to wait to see if the Hawks progress to next weekend's Preliminary Finals to be considered to return from his hamstring injury.
High Performance Manager Peter Burge provided an update on Morrison, Anderson and Mraz below.
Cody Anderson - Quad Cork (Test)
"Cody suffered a pretty nasty cork during the VFL Final on the weekend. He didn’t finish the game. It got to a point where he was struggling to perform at the level that he needed to. Once the game got to a certain point with the result, he was withdrawn from the game. He’s actually come in and is moving quite well today. He did a bit of low-level Alter G running so we’re expecting a more positive outcome for this week potentially, but we’ll know more once we get to Thursday’s main session."
Harry Morrison - Quad (Test)
"He's progressing. It’s been a little slower than we’ve expected and sometimes these things happen with soft tissue injuries, we get scans and we have the clinical side of the testing as well and sometimes that side of it can take a little longer, and that’s certainly how this has played out. He’s certainly made significant progression over the last two sessions. We’re kicking the footy at the moment and doing some high-speed running and running faster. We’re just now in the position where we’re looking to assess his training for Thursday with the main group and then we’ll make a selection decision with the match committee."
Noah Mraz - Hamstring (1-2 weeks)
"He's progressing really well. He’s made significant progression in the last week and is certainly doing some great conditioning and faster running and looks really good. So at this stage, we’re looking to progress back into training next week and that’ll all be dependent on the VFL results on the weekend but we’re certainly looking forward to that being a positive one and seeing Noah back training with the group next week."
