Hawthorn AFLW young guns Lavinia Cox, Daisy Flockart, Grace Baba and Elli Symonds have recommitted to the Club until the end of 2027.

The flurry of re-signings comes after an impressive debut year from the quartet of developing Hawks, who were all selected by the Club in the 2024 National Draft.

Selected with Pick 15, Cox made her debut in Round 1 the following season. Her athleticism and speed were on full display during her first three games, before succumbing to injury in the latter portion of the season.

Flockart, who was taken eight selections later at Pick 23, made her AFLW debut in Round 8, before going on to play every game for the rest of the season, including two finals. In addition to her memorable first AFLW goal in the Semi Final against Carlton, Flockart averaged 5.6 tackles and 2.1 clearances per game.

Baba exemplified her speed and versatility in her first season in the brown and gold following her selection with the 28th Pick. After making her debut in Round 2, Baba racked up nine games for the year, including playing finals. She averaged 8.6 disposals and 2.1 tackles per game.

Symonds totalled eight games her maiden season after making her AFLW debut in Round 3. The former Pick 45 was tasked with several roles including in the ruck and up forward, highlighting her importance as a long-term key position asset for the Club.

Hawthorn General Manager of AFLW Keegan Brooksby said all four re-signings we significant.

“It’s great to have Liv, Daisy, Grace and Elli recommit to Hawthorn after their debut seasons,” Brooksby said.

“Our 2024 draftees all took positive steps in their development in their first season at the club, and we look forward to seeing them continue to grow and realise their potential as Hawthorn footballers.

“Liv, Daisy, Grace and Elli bring their own individual strengths to the program, both on and off the field, and we’re excited for them continue in the brown and gold.
