Hawthorn forward Mitch Lewis and young defender Noah Mraz have been added to the Hawks' injury list following their 93-point victory against Essendon in Round 20.
Lewis was taken from the field with a concussion during the first quarter of Saturday's match, while Mraz suffered a lacerated kidney after reporting mild abdominal pain post-game.
Elsewhere, Karl Amon and Ned Reeves remain one week away from returning from their respective knee injuries, while Jack Scrimshaw and Jack Dalton are a few weeks away from fully recovering from their knee injuries.
Hawthorn High Performance Manager Peter Burge provided an update on each player on the Round 21 Injury List below.
Henry Hustwaite (Face) - Test
"He's made some progression. He's been doing non-contact training with the group, and he's got an appointment tomorrow with the specialist to update whether he gets the final tick-off to resume contact training, so we'll know more after tomorrow. Then we have our main training session on Thursday. If he's able to do the contact training Thursday, and everyone's happy, then we would consider him for the weekend, but there's still one or two more things we need to look at before we make that decision."
Ned Reeves (Knee) - 1 week
"He resumed training with the main group today, and he'll train again with us on Thursday. He's had the knee, which we've been managing, but he's also had a a niggle with his back last week as well, which just slowed us up somewhat with his progression. Today was really good, and we anticipate another good session on Thursday. We've ruled out this week, but we are aiming for next week as a return."
Karl Amon (Knee) - 1-2 weeks
"It's progressing well. He did some great running today, and we'll have another session Thursday and then on the weekend. So, we've listed him as one to two (weeks), but we are aiming for next week. Sometimes these things can, when you progress to the next level, you might have to hold for a little bit. But at this stage, we're confident that next week's in play."
Mitch Lewis (Concussion) - 1-2 weeks
"He's feeling really good. With the concussion protocols, that's a minimum of 12 days, which means he won't be playing this week. But it puts him in line to play next week against Brisbane, and all tracking well and with smooth progress over the next week, he would be available next week."
Jack Scrimshaw (Knee) - 2-3 weeks
"He's making some good progression. It's slow and steady, but he's starting to get some work under his belt now and doing some consistent conditioning. He's running, he's improving, he's able to do more volume of work. But as I've said previously, we need to make sure that we get these back-to-back sessions and he pulls up well before we can progress back into skills with the group. He's not at that stage yet, but we're certainly making progression with conditioning and putting a little bit of base work together for him to platform into the main trainings with the group in the coming weeks."
Jack Dalton (Knee) - 3-4 weeks
"Jack pushes us pretty hard with his progressions, and even today watching him run, he's certainly made some great progress. So that's tracking beautifully, and we'll just keep taking each step at the right pace and progressing over the next couple of weeks. There are still some markers in the clinical setting that he needs to improve on, but we are straight-line running at the moment, and we've got him on legs training, which is fantastic."
Noah Mraz (Kidney) - TBC
"Yeah, unfortunate. It was an incident quite late in the game. The medical team post-game just identified some things that needed closer looking at, and he was taken to hospital. He has a kidney injury. It's on the minor end of things, so we haven't put a timeline on his return yet. We're confident that he'll play football again this season. It certainly won't be in the next couple of weeks, but at the back end of the season, we've got a level of confidence that we'll see him again. Certainly, Noah will be pushing as hard because he's such a pro and very diligent in his preparation, so our thoughts are with him. He'll be back later in the week into our program. We'll see him around on Thursday. We won't be able to resume any conditioning for a little while yet, but we'll update each week as to how he's progressing."
Conor Nash (Neck) - TBC
"He's making progress. Last week he made a jump with some strength and some clinical markers, and this week he's made a small jump again, but we're still needing it to progress to another level. But as I've said previously, he's able to do non-contact skills, he's fit, and he's doing a lot of conditioning. But the improvement is there, it's just slow, and we've got a little bit to go still. We're pushing really hard, we're doing everything we can, and he's doing everything he can as well. As I've mentioned previously, we're making progress, but we need a little bit more, and we're working at that."
