Star Hawthorn duo Jarman Impey and Nick Watson have earned selection in the 2026 All-Australian team.

Jarman Impey’s first All-Australian blazer remarkably comes in his 13th year at the highest level, with the veteran defender exemplifying his trademark run and dash to enjoy a career-best campaign.

The proud Yorta Yorta man featured in 21 matches this season, averaging 23.6 disposals and 4.5 rebound 50s per game.

Impey ranked equal eighth in the AFL for marks per game (7), as well as racking up six intercept possessions per outing.

Impey’s incredible season also saw him rack up a career-best 37 disposals in Round 20, where the 31-year-old became the first Hawthorn player in history to record 35+ disposals, have 800+ metres gained, and total 10+ score involvements.

In just his third season, the mercurial Nick Watson has cemented his status as the AFL’s premier small forward with his first All-Australian blazer.

The 21-year-old is Hawthorn’s youngest All-Australian since Luke Hodge in 2005.

He booted 55 goals from his 21 games in 2026 to finish sixth in the Coleman Medal, and became the first player in 80 years to kick 50+ goals, despite being shorter than 170cm.

Among his career-best tally was three five-goal hauls in Rounds 6, 19 and 21, in addition to a breathtaking Mark of the Year contender in Round 24 against the Eagles in the pouring rain.

Along with his freakish ability in front of goal, the ‘Wizard’ weaved his magic further afield, averaging 13.3 disposals, 6.9 score involvements, 2.4 inside 50s and 2.3 marks per game.

“There wouldn’t be too many more popular selections than Jarman in this All-Australian team, this is a proud moment for Jarman, Annabelle and Zion, as well as our club.

“As for Nick, it was a truly special season where he announced himself as the game’s most dangerous small forward.

“Seeing the hard work he had put in this pre-season, it was little surprise to see the elevation in his consistency of performances each week, scoring goals in 19 of his 21 home-and-away appearances this season. 

“The excitement and energy he brings to our team is invaluable. Through his courage and dare, he is always looking at ways to create scoring opportunities for himself or his teammates.

“At just 21, Nick would be the first to say he’s just getting started and should be very proud of being our youngest All-Australian since Luke Hodge in 2005.”
