Hear from Hawks CEO Stuart Fox on the 2013 fixture in the player above.

HAWTHORN has been given a blockbuster start to the 2013 home-and-away season, with a home game against Geelong to kick-off its 2013 campaign.

That match is followed by blockbusters against fellow 2012 finalists West Coast (Patersons Stadium) and Collingwood (MCG, away game) in the opening three rounds.

The Hawks will play each of the 2012 finalists in the opening seven rounds of the season - a challenging start for Alastair Clarkson and his team.

The opening home match against the Cats is one of four home games the Hawks will host at the MCG in the first 10 rounds of the 2013 season with the Club scheduled to host North Melbourne in Round 5, Sydney in Round 7 and Gold Coast Suns in Round 9.

The Grand Final replay between Hawthorn and Sydney will take place at the MCG on Saturday 11 May at 7.40pm.

Gun recruit and Hawthorn full back Brian Lake will have to wait until Round 17 to face-off against his old side the Bulldogs in the season proper, when the two sides meet at Aurora Stadium on Saturday afternoon on 20 July.

That match is one of four games at the venue, with the Hawks also scheduled to face Fremantle (Round 4), Greater Western Sydney (Round 8) and Brisbane Lions (Round 14) in Tasmania.

The Hawks will also play five matches at Etihad Stadium in 2013, with blockbusters against Carlton (Round 12) and Essendon (Round 18) scheduled.

As part of the 2013 fixture, the Hawks will also play a home game at Etihad Stadium against West Coast on a Friday night in Round 13.

It will be the first time since the Club hosted Geelong in Round 22, 2006 that it has been scheduled to play a home game at the venue.

It is a tough draw for the Hawks, scheduled to play 2012 finalists Geelong, Collingwood, West Coast, North Melbourne and Sydney twice in 2013.

The Hawks will also host four matches at Aurora Stadium in Tasmania. The will play Fremantle (Round 4), Greater Western Sydney (Round 8), Brisbane Lions (Round 14) and Western Bulldogs (Round 17) at the venue.

In addition to the four Tasmanian home gamnes, the Hawks will also travel interstate on four occasions too, with a match in Perth against the Eagles, facing Sydney at ANZ Stadium, and twice travelling to Adelaide to face the Crows and Power in Rounds 6 and 16 respectively.
