Season summary:

Denver Grainger-Barras made a quick impression in his first AFL season.

It comes after the youngster injured his knee in the last practice match of the 2021 pre-season, delaying his first opportunity on the AFL stage until June.

Showing glimpses as a promising key figure in the Hawks’ defensive stocks, Grainger-Barras went on to play five senior games late in the year. 

The 19-year-old who hails from Western Australia joined the club after being taken with Pick 6 in the 2020 AFL Draft - Hawthorn's first top 10 draft pick since 2006.

Standing at 195cm tall, the talented youngster has shown strengths with his intercept marking and ability to read the play.

Best AFL game:

The youngster's best game came in Round 18 when the Hawks drew with minor premiers Melbourne, finishing with 10 disposals, six marks and two rebound 50s.
