Hawthorn ruckman Lloyd Meek has inked a new four-year deal, tying him to the brown and gold until at least the end of 2029.

Now in his third year with the Hawks, Meek has taken his game to the next level after crossing from Fremantle at the end of 2022.

Following a breakout campaign last season, the 27-year-old has lifted to another level in 2025, averaging 39.3 hitouts (ranked elite) per game, including 10.8 hitouts to advantage, as well as 13.4 disposals, 4.5 tackles and 4.4 clearances.

Such has been the big-man’s dominance in the brown and gold, Meek has broken Hawthorn’s all-time record for hitouts per game twice in two seasons, headlined by his mammoth 59 hitout performance in Round 17 earlier this year.

Inspired by his widely popular ‘Meek Monday’ social media following, the 203cm Hawk is fan-favourite among Hawthorn faithful, having notched up 50 club games earlier this year to take his career tally to 69 appearances.

Hawthorn National List and Recruiting Manager Mark McKenzie said Meek’s new deal was a reflection of his importance in the club’s future.

“The influence that Lloyd has had over the past few seasons has been significant - we know he’s a vital part of what we want to achieve,” McKenzie said.

“Though his dominance in hitouts is well known, it’s his capacity to influence the game across the ground, both in the air and at ground level, that has elevated his standing among the competition’s rucks.”

“Along with being a great clubman, we know that Lloyd is a genuine competitor who always wants to get better, so we are very excited about what he can produce for us in the next few years."
