Hawthorn duo Jack Gunston and Josh Battle have been recognised in the 2025 All Australian squad.

At the age of 33, Gunston is in line for his second All Australian blazer - seven years on from his first in 2018. While for Battle, it is his debut selection in the 44-player squad in his first year at Hawthorn.

Gunston currently sits equal-second in the Coleman Medal race, finishing the home-and-away season with 62 goals from 20 games.

Across the season, Gunston was ranked elite in his position for goals (3.1 per game), disposals (12.5 per game), kicks (9.4 per game), score involvements (7.6 per game) and marks inside 50 (3.2 per game).

Highlighting his incredible ability to wind back the clock this year, Gunston booted a new career-high of seven goals in Round 16, before matching that again with another bag of seven majors in Round 24.

For Battle, he has a chance to secure his maiden All Australian blazer in his ninth season at AFL level, ahead of his 27th birthday next week.

After crossing to Hawthorn from St Kilda at the end of last year, Battle played every game in his first season at the club in 2025.

In addition to being tasked with several key shutdown roles across the year, the hybrid defender averaged 18.5 disposals (elite), 5.5 marks, 3.5 rebound 50s and 1.3 intercept marks per game.

The final 2025 All Australian team will be announced on Thursday 28 August.
