Hawthorn Football Club has posted a football operations surplus of $1,959,787 for the 2025 financial year.

Hawthorn also announced a consolidated surplus before depreciation and other income of $3,380,186, reflecting the Club’s total operations excluding grants, fundraising, one-off transactions and depreciation.

In addition to breaking Hawthorn’s all-time membership tally and home attendance record in 2025, the Club importantly maintains financial independence and enters 2026 debt free.

Hawthorn President Andy Gowers said:

“On behalf of the Club, I’d like to thank the entire Hawthorn family for playing a role in our success across season 2025, including our loyal 87,204 brown and gold members, whose unwavering support we are incredibly thankful for.”

“This truly has been an historical and transformational year for Hawthorn, as we celebrated our 100th year in the VFL/AFL, whilst moving into our new home in Dingley, the Kennedy Community Centre.

“As a Club, ensuring we remain financially independent and keep a strong balance sheet is as important as ever – particularly as we take our first steps at the KCC in our quest for our 14th AFL premiership and 1st AFLW flag, along with our ambition of making a meaningful impact in the Kingston community.”

Hawthorn Chief Executive Officer Ash Klein said:

“From our record-breaking membership base to our loyal suite of corporate partners, along with our coterie groups and generous donors – we would be nothing without their ongoing support and as a Club, we’d like to extend our gratitude to their commitment to Hawthorn.

“On top of our amazing new facilities at the Kennedy Community Centre, being in a strong financial position allows our club to continue driving the elite, high-performing culture that is expected at Hawthorn, across both our AFL and AFLW programs, as well as the wider administration in our on-going pursuit for premiership success.

“Additionally, our financial growth ensures we can further diversify our revenue streams to maintain our advancement as a Club, both on and off the field, whilst re-investing back into the Hawthorn family and local Kingston community.”
