Hawthorn will host the Brisbane Lions in a Preliminary Final showdown at the MCG on Saturday.

With the game beginning at 5.45pm, Hawks fans are encouraged to arrive early and paint the 'G brown and gold!

Brisbane (125) defeated Hawthorn (58) in Round 22, 2026. 

Hawthorn struggled to make inroads against a resolute Lions defence at the Gabba, going down by 67 points.

With Noah Answerth keeping Nick Watson goalless and Harris Andrews controlling the air, the Hawks had few answers.

Hawthorn won the raw clearance numbers comfortably, but the Lions' midfield hassled them into hurried possessions and repeatedly forced turnovers.

Seymour and Shepparton lines: Coaches replace some evening trains for the entire journey from Friday 18 September to Wednesday 23 September.

Blackburn Road citybound entry ramp for the Eastern Freeway closed until 11:59pm, Thursday 24 September.
