HAWTHORN has finalised its senior coaching structure for the 2016 season.

Newly appointed assistant coach Damian Carroll will look after the midfield group, with both Cameron Bruce and Brett Ratten switching portfolios.

Carroll was the interim forward line coach during the 2015 finals series, after former assistant Brendon Bolton was appointed as Carlton’s senior coach.

GM – Football Operations Chris Fagan said Carroll’s addition to the assistant coaching group was an opportunity to freshen up the coaching panel.

“With Damian promoted to an assistant coaching role at the end of the season, it gives Brett and Cameron an opportunity to take on different portfolios,” Fagan said.

“That will add another dimension of flexibility to our coaching panel.”

Bruce will become stoppages coach, after two seasons in charge of the midfield group.

Ratten, who was the stoppages coach for three seasons, will look after the forward line.

Adem Yze will remain in charge of the Hawks’ back line for a second season.
