Hawthorn signed Keegan Brooksby to a one-year rookie contract as part of the pre-season supplemental selection period in March, filling the Hawks final list spot for 2020.

At the time, GM – Football Graham Wright said Brooksby would add depth to the club’s ruck and key forward stocks.

As the season panned out, Brooksby, who had previously spent time with Gold Coast and West Coast, made just the one appearance at senior level for the Hawks this year.

This game came in Round 8 against Sydney, where Brooksby toiled hard despite the side recording its fourth consecutive loss.

Whilst playing in the reserves scratch matches, the 30-year-old provided a strong level of leadership and direction amongst the younger players of the Hawks list.
