Hawthorn has confirmed two big inclusions ahead of its Round 3 blockbuster against the Cats.

Star forward Chad Wingard will make his return, having overcome the calf complaint that held him out of the opening two rounds.

He’ll be joined in the side by young forward Mitch Lewis, who returns to the senior mix off the back of a pair of strong showings for Box Hill.

Will Day is the lone confirmed exclusion at this stage, with the talented defender set for a stint on the side lines following ankle surgery earlier this week.

Jack Scrimshaw, who replaced Day as the medical substitute in Round 2, has retained his spot and will begin on the field.

Ollie Hanrahan, Tim O’Brien, Conor Nash and James Cousins have been named emergencies, with the medical sub to be confirmed an hour prior to the first bounce.

The Hawks will take on the Cats at 3.20pm at the MCG on Easter Monday, in what’s sure to be another epic instalment in this fierce modern-day rivalry.
