You have to head back to Rounds 3 and 4 of the 2020 season to find Hawthorn's most recent back-to-back wins prior to the club's consecutive victories over Brisbane in Round 20 and then Collingwood on Sunday afternoon.

The significance of the occasion wasn't lost on Hawthorn Coach Alastair Clarkson as he spoke following his side's 19-point win.

"It's been some time since the mighty Hawks have won two games in a row!" Clarkson said.

"So, it was really pleasing that we were able to put in another strong performance.

"Collingwood were terrific against West Coast last week so we knew we had our work cut out for us today.

"We were pleased with the way we started the game to get some scoreboard ascendancy and from there we were able to stem any of the tide that came our way from Collingwood."
