After a breakout season in 2019 when he booted 20 goals from 12 games, Mitch Lewis continued to hone his craft as a developing key forward in 2020. After being left out of the senior side at different stages early in the year, Lewis worked hard and earned his way back into the team for every game of the final month of the year. Across these four games, he booted four goals, with his performance in the final round of the year against Gold Coast the best of the lot, finishing with 12 touches, five marks and two goals. Having only recently turned 22 years old, Lewis is still very early on in his football journey. This year Lewis faced the added pressure of being regularly opposed to rival side’s number one key defender - an experience the forward will undoubtedly be better for as he looks ahead to 2021.
