Locke was signed as Hawthorn’s third AFLW player after impressing for Port Melbourne in the VFLW. She also represented the Murray Bushrangers and Vic Country as a junior. The 21-year-old captivated hearts around the nation in her maiden AFLW campaign by making her debut and kicking the club’s first ever AFLW goal in Round 1, just two weeks after losing her mother, Sarah, to a battle with cancer. Locke went on to play another seven games for the Hawks in 2022 followed by another nine games in 2023.
