Hawthorn has welcomed a strong fixture for season 2024, with the brown and gold to host several blockbuster MCG home games, along with four bumper clashes at UTAS Stadium.

The Hawks will kick off the season with three consecutive games at the MCG, including an opening-round contest against Essendon on Saturday 16 March, followed by back-to-back home matches against Melbourne and Geelong, with the latter serving as the traditional Easter Monday blockbuster.

The remaining slate strong home Melbourne games will see Hawthorn host Sydney (Round 7), Adelaide (Round 12), Collingwood (Round 19) and Richmond (Round 23) all at the MCG.

The Round 7 matchup with Sydney shapes as a special one for the brown and gold faithful to pay their respects during ANZAC Day Round, as the Hawks welcome the Swans back to the MCG for the first time since 2018.

Hawthorn will again return to its happy hunting ground at UTAS Stadium in Tasmania to host St Kilda (Round 9), GWS Giants (Round 13), Fremantle (Round 18), and North Melbourne (Round 24).

Across 2024, the Hawks will visit South Australia three times, including their Gather Round blockbuster against the Pies, along with singular trips to Western Australia, Queensland, and the ACT.

The Queensland clash has the Hawks pitted against the Suns in a Saturday night showdown on April 13, providing fans with the perfect reason to make the trek to the Sunshine State during the school holidays.

Hawks members looking to make a visit across the Nullabor will get the opportunity in Round 16 against West Coast, with that match also coming during a school holiday break.

Hawthorn’s return to the nation’s capital in Round 21 will come with plenty of confidence, having knocked off the GWS Giants in their previous and only encounter at Manuka Oval in 2019.

While, a trip down the highway to the Cattery in Geelong (Round 17) will mark Hawthorn’s first game at GMHBA in 18 years (not including the 2020 COVID-impacted fixture).

Hawthorn CEO Ashley Klein said the club was thrilled to be staging several big MCG home games across the year.

“To kickstart the year with three straight games at the MCG is a huge win for our loyal members, which of course includes a massive home match in Round 2 against the Demons, before we paint the ‘G brown and gold for the traditional Easter Monday blockbuster,” Klein said.

“With our remaining home MCG fixture including a massive pair of matches against Collingwood and Richmond, there will be no shortage of excitement for the Hawthorn faithful.

“Four games again at UTAS Stadium is a great result for our club given our strong record on the Apple Isle, we cannot wait to get back there and do what we do best.

“And our six away games outside of Victoria gives us the perfect opportunity to connect and strengthen our relationships with our valued interstate members, particularly across the school holidays.

“Joining the brown and gold family gives you the best chance to be a part of our exciting journey in 2024, with great value membership options for wherever you’re based.”

Member access games in Melbourne will be confirmed shortly.
