Laura Hanson’s timing was spot on.

Little did she know when she visited the Hawks Museum on the last day of September that the Legends Portraits would be removed from display the next day to be wrapped ready for the move to the Kennedy Community Centre.

Laura is a regular visitor to the Hawks Museum from Jeeralang, a small country town in Gippsland.

She had asked whether her partner, Gareth Williams and their two children Maddie and Roy could have their photos taken holding the 1976, 2008 and 2013 premiership cups, to celebrate the years they were born.

The three members of the Williams family, dressed in brown & gold, stood happily in front of Michael Tuck’s Legends portrait, holding the premiership cups that designate their respective birth years.

Gareth held 1976, Maddie 2008 and Roy 2013.

Laura held the football kicked by Lance Franklin to seal his 100th goal against Carlton in 2008.

Little did we know that these photos would be the last taken within the foyer to the Hawks Museum, where the Legends portraits have hung since 2008.

This photo was followed by several more taken in front of the John Kennedy Snr statue.

In the next few weeks, the John Kennedy Snr Statue will be moved to a new prominent position where it will welcome the extended Hawthorn family to the Club’s new headquarters at KCC, Dingley.

For the record, the Hawks Museum has assisted over 174 families with photo shoots with premiership cups marking their birth years.
